Description

An authentic reproduction in pewter of one of the eight silver drinking cups designed by Thomas Jefferson and made for him by John Letelier of Richmond, Virginia. Five of the original cups are on display at Monticello Jefferson's home in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Jefferson Cup can be personalized with a monogram or name. Each one is handcrafted in the USA in our Middlebury, Vermont workshop.

Pewter barware is excellent for cold drinks. Pewter retains a pleasant chill and traps in a liquid's coldness, making it perfect for a cold beer, wine, and iced drinks like mint juleps. Many people who have tried sipping out of pewter barware now swear by it!

Please note it is not advisable to drink hot drinks out of pewter mugs because of the melting point of the metal. We recommend hand-washing all pewter barware with warm soap and water, then drying it completely with a cloth.

Our pewter meets or exceeds all FDA food-safety standards.

Each piece is spun and finished individually, by hand, which means all dimensions are approximate. Each item will have its own subtle variations.

the Jefferson cup was beautifully made and when I had asked in an afterthought if I could add an engraving the staff accommodated me even though my request had come later then it should have,

Cups received super fast and in perfect condition. Cups are beautiful. We gave one to each of our children, and now are giving them as wedding presents to our granchildren.

These cups are solid, beautifully made in pewter and finished to a mirror sheen. The engraving was perfect.

This cup was purchased for our son upon his graduation from medical school. There were many great items to personalize, but this one was chosen. It's a beautiful cup with a shiny finish and the script monogramming looks perfect. Thanks for a gift that will endure and be treasured.

They are very beautiful! My husband, perhaps being from VA, always admired them, and we sort of named our son after Thomas Jefferson. I saw them earmarked in another catalog, and he told me not to get them, but then I saw them in your catalog, and I couldn't resist. I'm from Vermont, and was pleased to support a VT business. (We are getting on in years and should be more reluctant to acquire stuff...but I'm not a bit sorry! :))

Being from Williamsburg Virginia, I always give a gift of the Jefferson Cup. Not only is it beautiful, I can personalize it with the person's initial. For me it is truly a personal gift representing where I come from and it is not a gift that they will get from others. I will never forget scoring big points with my new mother-in-law the first time I met her!
