It's here: the 2023 Snowflake Bentley Ornament!

Each year, Danforth Pewter releases a much-anticipated snowflake design based on one of Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley's 5000 original photographs of individual snow crystals. W.A. Bentley was a Vermont farmer who adapted a microscope to a bellows camera and became the first person to photograph a single snowflake. In doing so, he astonished the world with his discovery that no two snowflakes are alike. The collection is now maintained by the Jericho, Vermont Historical Society, who commissions Danforth Pewter each year to create annual designs based on his original photograph.

This year's ornament design draws on an intricate yet classic six-pointed snowflake with lots of space between the crystals, allowing for a beautiful interplay of pewter and light​—whether that's sunlight in a window or the twinkle of lights on a tree.

A portion of all sales from Snowflake Bentley products supports the Jericho Historical Society. The Snowflake Bentley 2023 design is also available as a necklace, dangling earrings, lapel pin, and zipper pull. Because it is a commissioned piece, it is not available wholesale, and cannot be discounted or included in any promotion.

Dimensions & Specifications

Each ornament is made individually by hand, so all dimensions are approximate. Subtle variations are natural.

    The pewter Snowflake Bentley ornament is exquisite and a beautiful gift along with a paperback book on Snowflake Bentley which I used as a librarian in school. Highly recommend the snowflake.

    As is the case with a Danforth item, the 2023 Bentley snowflake ornament is lovely in detail and craftsmanship.

    I buy the Snowflake Bentley ornaments every year . They are all beautiful, but I think the 2023 snowflake is the most delicate so far. Love it!

    I am always amazed each year at the new issue of the snowflake. Although created in pewter, they are so delicate and wonderful on my tree. I order 6 each year as gifts to friends. They look forward to receiving them.
