It's here: the 2024 Snowflake Bentley Ornament! This year's Snowflake Ornament is an elegant stellar dendrite, based on a photograph taken by Wilson "Snowflake" Bently sometime in early 1911.
Each year, Danforth Pewter releases a much-anticipated snowflake design based on one of Snowflake Bentley's 5000 original photographs of individual snow crystals. W. A. Bentley was a Vermont farmer who adapted a microscope to a bellows camera and became the first person to photograph a single snowflake. In doing so, he astonished the world with his discovery that no two snowflakes are alike. The collection of photographs is now maintained by the Jericho, Vermont Historical Society, who commissions Danforth Pewter to create annual designs based on his original photographs.
The Snowflake Bentley Ornament comes packaged in a commemorative gift box with a gray flannel storage pouch.
