Three French hens
Beautiful addition to our collection! Detailing is absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I actually celebrate the 12 days of Christmas, so we're always on the lookout for decorations with that theme. We've found a winner here!
Part of the Danforth 12 Days of Christmas Ornament Set, the Three French Hens Ornament is a lovely tableau of the song's iconic third line. While the exact origins of the song are unknown, tradition has it that the three hens symbolize the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity, making this ornament an exquisite reminder of the core values of Christianity.
All twelve of these handcrafted pewter ornaments feature a two-sided center that can pivot up to ninety degrees, so you can arrange each one at its own angle and create a lovely sense of dimension and variety in your tree.
Each ornament is made in our workshop in Middlebury, Vermont.
It's easy to collect all twelve days of Christmas, because this ornament is part of our special Buy 6, Get the 7th Ornament FREE!
Dimensions are approximate because all items are made by hand. Subtle variations are natural.
